CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson men’s soccer team is the No. 8 National Seed in the 48-team bracket for the 2017 NCAA Tournament, as announced by the NCAA on Monday afternoon. Having received a first round bye, the Tigers will play the winner of Mercer and Coastal Carolina in the second round on Sunday, Nov. 19 at Historic Riggs Field. 

This is Clemson’s fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament berth and fifth under head coach Mike Noonan, and it is the fourth consecutive year that the Tigers have earned a first round bye. It is the program’s 30th all-time NCAA Tournament berth, and Clemson has a 52-26-6 record in the national tournament all-time. 

The Tigers are 12-5-1 overall in 2017 and finished in the top four in the ACC Tournament. Three Clemson players earned All-ACC honors last week: Oliver Shannon (first team), Diego Campos (first team) and Robbie Robinson (All-Freshman). The Clemson offense is ranked seventh in the country, scoring 2.22 goals per game. 

The ACC earned an NCAA-record nine tournament bids for the second straight year, and seven of those nine teams are seeded in the top 12.
