OFFICIAL GAME THREAD: CLEMSON vs Temple

CUTrevor 2017-11-19 10:52:03

Tigers look to improve to 5-0! They tip off at 9:30 ET on ESPN2 in Charleston. Grantham is the story of the young season, scoring 73 points in the last 4 games and shooting close to 80% from the field! He is finally looking like the player we hoped we'd see the last couple years. If he plays even close to this well the rest of the season, the Tigers should make the NCAA barring injuries. Speaking of which, keep an eye on Shelton Mitchell tonight. It's their third game in four days, and he has that chronically bad knee. Reed has run the point well when Mitchell's been out. By the way, Reed had a great game on Friday night. He is the first Tiger since Horace Grant to score 16 points with 11 rebounds and 6 assists! Finally, Eli Thomas needs to avoid the careless fouls early! He had no fouls on Thursday night and played his best career game, but on Friday night he committed 3 early fouls, all on the offensive end, and was on the bench most of the game.

Wow, interestingly 9 years ago to the day, the Tigers beat Temple in the inaugural Charleston Classic Championship! Also, on Thursday night Eli Thomas was the first Tiger to post at least 15 points and 15 rebounds in a game since Trevor Booker did it, also 9 years ago to the day. Talk about deja vu! Let's hope that continues!

Good effort to come back late, but the Tigers lose their first game of the season, 67-60. That's a good Temple team, but the Tigers did not play as well as they have the past few games--especially on the offensive side. Gave up too many 3's on the defensive end. This will not be a bad loss on the resume, though.
