Good grief Byrd and Teo both K. That's 6 straight K's for Hill! In his last outing against Charleston Southern, he had 14 K's in 6.1 innings, so he now has 20 K's in his last 8 innings. The 14 was a Founder's Park record.

Wilkie goes down swinging. This Hill kid has a nasty breaking ball. He's struck out the side the last 2 innings and 7 straight now.

Hill has tied the school record for consecutive K's at 7. It has been done twice before in their history. Leadoff man Davidson leads off the 4th for the Tigers, so hopefully they'll have better luck the second time through the lineup.

Davidson drew a leadoff walk in the 4th and stole 2nd and 3rd, but they were unable to cash in. Beer and Cromwell both struck out, and Williams fouled out to end the inning. All Cromwell needed to do was put it in play with Davidson on 3rd and one out. At least Davidson ended the string of 7 straight K's! One more would have set a new SCAR record.

BEER!!! Incredible diving catch in foul territory for the 2nd out! I was worried he was gonna get a concussion or worse diving head first into the tarp.

Good grief Byrd drops an infield fly that should have ended the inning! And right after Beer made the incredible diving catch. SCAR breaks the deadlock on the error. Tigers lucky they didn't score 2.

Hennessy gets out of the 5th with no more damage, runner stranded on 3rd.

BEER RUN!!! 2-run BOMB to right center on the first pitch! He silences the crowd in Cola for the 2nd straight year. Was just like it sounded after he hit the big HR last year to tie the game in the 9th with 2 outs. That's the 3rd straight year he's gomered here in Cola! Came right after Davidson walked for the 2nd straight time.

Cromwell flied out, and Williams was caught trying to stretch a single into a double. But Beer does it again!

Wow, Hill strikes out the side for the 3rd time. He has tied his Founders Park record of 14 K's and is at 110 total pitches!

Sac fly to left wins the game for SCAR. First loss of the season for the Tigers, who won here last year in extra innings. Mistakes were the difference in the game. The big error by Byrd and the errant pick off by Gilliam.

Game 2 at 3:00 tomorrow in Greenville. Tigers will need to win the next two to win the series for the 4th straight year.
