Sorry I didn't have a game thread for this morning's rescheduled game from yesterday's rain out. I got back to Clemson at 7:00 this morning after a 15-hour drive from Omaha and crashed!

The Tigers won 4-3 thanks to 2 RBI's from Williams and 2 from Wharton. They loaded the bases in the 5th with no outs, and Williams and Wharton both came through with 2-out, 2-RBI singles! After taking the 4-0 lead in the 5th, they were able to hold on for their 8th one-run win of the season. Crawford went 4.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. By virtue of the fact that Crawford didn't last 5 innings, Travis Marr got his first win even though he only pitched one inning and allowed an earned run. The bull pen was outstanding--Clark, Spiers, Schnell and Gilliam combined for 3.2 scoreless innings. 3rd save of the season for Gilliam, who has a 1.80 ERA but has allowed a bunch of base runners in his outings.

Monte reverted back to the original lineup with Davidson, Beer, Cromwell and Williams that worked so well for the first leg of the season. Greene started at 2nd and went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.

Tigers are now 18-5 and 5-3 in the ACC. They will go for the road sweep in the second half of the doubleheader!
