SUNDAY EVENING DABO TELECONFERENCE

Just got off the phone with Dabo. No injuries to report. As I reported last night, Hyatt was pulled out of the game for a stinger in his shoulder. Dabo talked about how special it is to him to win the division and how he wants his players to not take that for granted even though the fans and the media have bigger expectations. This was, of course, Dabo's 6th division title in his 10th full season. I asked Dabo about his longer than usual post-game exchange with Steve Addazio after the game, and he said Addazio was just very complimentary of Dabo's program and vice-versa. Dabo said Addazio is one of the real good guys in this profession, and I've always felt the same way. I also asked Dabo about the missed interference call on Amari's muffed punt, and Dabo said he just flat out thought the refs missed the call. It ended up being innocuous because of the score, but that could have been an enormous blunder by the refs. I've always thought certain calls should be reviewable--especially when they are that obvious. It makes no sense that they'll spend 10 minutes on a targeting review but won't review a clear miss by the officials that could change the outcome of a game. I'll get Dabo's thoughts on that on Tuesday. Dabo also talked about how much respect and affection he has for Duke Head Coach David Cutcliffe, saying he is one of Dabo's good friends. Finally, Dabo talked about how impressed he was with Trevor's play last night as a true freshman in that environment, while also pointing out that he has some things he needs to work on, such as sliding too early before the first down marker.

I'll have the audio posted for you shortly. Don't forget to check in tomorrow for our interviews with the coordinators, Trevor Lawrence and several more players!
