Tigers will go for the opening series sweep with first pitch set for 5:05, and true freshman Justin Wrobleski will see if he can follow fellow freshman Davis Sharpe's brilliant debut. You might see Wrobleski hit tonight as well. I'll have starting lineups shortly. The Tigers won the first game of the double-header today 7-2. True freshman Davis Sharpe got his first win with no runs, 8 K's and 2 hits in 5 innings. Holt Jones struck out side in 9th, and CU pitchers combined for 15 K's! Teo broke the game open with a 2-out grand slam. Both of his hits this weekend have come with 2 outs, and he scored both times. Hall added a HR, single and 2 steals. I'll have to ask Monte after the game if he pulled Meredith because he wasn't supposed to try to steal 3rd. The out ended the inning, and then Majkowski was inserted in left for Meredith right after. Only thing that makes sense to me is Meredith hurt himself on the steal or was in Monte's dog house for going on his own. |

Interesting! Sharpe did not hit in the game he pitched, but he will DH tonight rather than letting Wrobleski hit. Also, Adam Hackenberg will get his first start behind the plate with Wilkie taking tonight off. Freshman Elijah Henderson will make his debut in left. Mont moved Byrd up to the cleanup spot in an attempt to get his bat going. He had 2 walks today but is still hitless this season. |
