Stanley shot even par or better in every round, the first former Clemson golfer to do that in a Masters tournament. The native of Gig Harbor, Washington who was a three-time All-American at Clemson between 2006-09, had rounds of 72-72-70-69 for his 283 total. On Sunday, Stanley had three birdies, an eagle and two bogeys. Stanley’s final round 69 tied for the second best by a former Clemson golfer at the Masters. The record remains a 68 in the second round of the 1992 tournament by Dillard Pruitt. Lucas Glover had a 69 in the second round of the 2014 tournament and Pruitt also had a 69 in the final round in 1992. Stanley’s five-under-par 283 is the second best by a golfer with ties to Clemson. Pruitt still has the record with a six under par 282 in 1992. Stanley’s 21st place finish is the best by a golfer with ties to Clemson since 2007 when Glover finished tied for 20th with a 298 score. Overall, Stanley’s 21st place finish is the fourth best finish by a former Tigers. Jonathan Byrd still has the highest finish by a former Tiger with a #8 finish at the 2003 Masters. For this year’s tournament, Stanley had 14 birdies, 11 bogeys and an eagle. He won $107,956 with the 21st place finish, the most money won by a former Tiger at the Masters since Jonathan Byrd won $162,000 with his eighth place finish in 2003. |
