Clemson, S.C.—Former Clemson All-American Kyle Stanley finished 21st at the 2019 Masters with a score of five-under-par 283.   Stanley fired a final round 69 on Sunday to improve 10 places in the standings.  Tiger Woods won the tournament, his first Masters victory in 14 years.

Stanley shot even par or better in every round, the first former Clemson golfer to do that in a Masters tournament.  The native of Gig Harbor, Washington who was a three-time All-American at Clemson between 2006-09, had rounds of 72-72-70-69 for his 283 total.  On Sunday, Stanley had three birdies, an eagle and two bogeys.

Stanley’s final round  69 tied for the second best by a former Clemson golfer at the Masters.  The record remains a 68 in the second round of the 1992 tournament by Dillard Pruitt.   Lucas Glover had a 69 in the second round of the 2014 tournament and Pruitt also had a 69 in the final round in 1992.

Stanley’s five-under-par 283 is the second best by a golfer with ties to Clemson.  Pruitt still has the record with a six under par 282 in 1992.

Stanley’s 21st place finish is the best by a golfer with ties to Clemson since 2007 when Glover finished tied for 20th with a 298 score.  Overall, Stanley’s 21st place finish is the fourth best finish by a former Tigers.  Jonathan Byrd still has the highest finish by a former Tiger with a #8 finish at the 2003 Masters.

For this year’s tournament, Stanley had 14 birdies, 11 bogeys and an eagle.  He won $107,956 with the 21st place finish,  the most money won by a former Tiger at the Masters since Jonathan Byrd won $162,000 with his eighth place finish in 2003.
