As I suspected might be the case and wrote a few days ago, Monte has decided to start Hennessy against Illinois tonight and save Clark for tomorrow, hoping to start 2-0. He’s assuming if they win tonight they will play the home team Ole Miss tomorrow, which will be a tougher game.

What a job by Sharpe, coming in for Hennessy in the 3rd and allowing no earned runs! Tigers are in great shape, not having to use Spiers or any other relievers today. Gotta like their chances tomorrow with Clark making the start and Spiers fully rested. They will play the winner of Ole Miss and Jacksonville State at 7:00 tomorrow night, presumably the former, on ESPNU.
