As I reported a few weeks ago, Shaq Smith added his name to the transfer portal. While a transfer hadn't been official, the Maryland native had been working out with players for the Terps recently, and it appears that he will now make the transfer official. As I wrote before, this is really out of left field because Venables had talked about what a good spring he had and that he emerged as one of the team leaders. I thought this was going to be a breakout season for him. This leaves the Tigers with a lot of inexperience at linebacker, but they are still talented there with Skalski, Chad Smith, Mike Jones and Jake Venables. I'll have more on this as it develops. |
