THURSDAY SCRIMMAGE INTERVIEWS

Finally finished after the scrimmage ran about 45 mins long! It was the longest practice of camp and the final scrimmage. Dabo told me both first teams dominated the 2’s, which is good and bad obviously. DK is finally back from his hamstring, but he unfortunately missed the scrimmage to attend the funeral of a former teammate, who was killed in a car accident. Dabo said he is very pleased with freshman TE Jaelyn Lay, and that he has probably improved more than anyone since the spring. Speaking of tight ends, starter JC Chalk had his best day of camp, making a few nice catches in the scrimmage. Backup safety Nolan Turner had a pick-six. Several players are banged up right now but should be ready to go for the opener. Included in that are DE Justin Foster, who missed the scrimmage, DE Justin Mascoll, WR Frank Ladson, LB Jake Venables, LB Baylon Spector and TE Davis Allen.

I’ll have Dabo, Venables, Elliott and players posted shortly.
