Simms and Mack combining for 10 points is simply not going to get it done--especially on the road against a top-10 team. If they had combined for about 35 points as they usually do, the Tigers could easily have won. The 6-minute scoring drought in the first half did the Tigers in. They actually outscored the Cards by 3 in the second half. Good to see them keep fighting despite falling behind by 26 in the second half on the road. They climbed all the way back to within 13, but the deficit was just too big to surmount. Also good to see Hunter and Hemenway contributing after missing weeks with injuries. Each scored 8 points in the second half. Who would have thought both Hunter and Hemenway would have scored more than Simms and Mack?! The Tigers have a tough Syracuse team at home next on Tuesday at 7:00. Cuse is currently in the top half of the ACC standings, so it's a big game! |
