Tip is at 8:00 on ACCN and I'll have live play-by-play right here! Tigers have won 7 straight over the Deacs and are tied for 6th in the ACC at 5-5. The Tigers were 5-2 in the month of January, including wins over all 4 Tobacco Road schools and Syracuse. They beat the 3 winningest coaches of all time in the same month! Tevin Mack is coming off a career-high 32 points in Tuesday's win over Syracuse, and Clyde Trapp scored a career-high 17. My game preview is below!

Just got word that forward Jonathan Baehre re-tore the ACL that he had rehabbed since his surgery last summer. He had played very little this season, but now the Tigers will have to go the rest of the season with a very thin front court and smaller lineup. They've been ridiculously unlucky with injuries this year!

Mack has yet to score after a career-high 32 on Tuesday, and Trapp has just 2 points after a career-high 17 on Tuesday, thanks to a couple early fouls. Strangely, either Simms or Mack has been scoreless at halftime in the last 3 games now. Simms was scoreless at halftime in the last 2, but he leads the Tigers with 10 points tonight. He is 1-1 from 3 tonight, but the rest of the Tigers are 0-10! If you can't make 3-pointers against a zone defense, it's going to be rough scoring points, and that's been the story so far. Mack has to get going in the 2nd half!

TIGERS LOSE 56-44.

Good game defensively, but they were worse on offense. They average 8.5 made 3's per game and shot just 4-21 tonight. There's your difference. Add 5 more 3's and the Tigers win by 3 points on an average night. Mack scored just 2 points after a career-high 32 on Tuesday. Simms scored just 4 points in the second half but led the team with 14. I think a big story of this game, though, was Trapp being in foul trouble throughout. He played just 17 minutes, and that really disrupted their offensive rhythm. Trapp's return has been a major reason for the 5-2 record in January, so taking him off the floor for half the game on the road is a recipe for a loss. That's life in the ACC, though. If you don't bring your game on the road, you're gonna lose. Tigers fall to 5-6 with the loss and play at 6-4 UVA next.
