Wake will host ESPN College GameDay on Saturday. I had a feeling that would be the case since there aren’t any big games, and the Tigers are No.1. Ironically, it will be Wake’s first time ever hosting the show, and there will be no fans at the GameDay set or in the stadium for the game! It will be the 24th time the Tigers are featured on GameDay. They had won 11 straight appearances, the longest streak in the naiton, before the loss to LSU in the National Championship. As a side note, the media is not allowed outside the press box at Wake, and all the post-game interviews will be conducted via Zoom. Also, Wake is kicking everyone out of the press box an hour after the end of the game. For all these reasons, I will not travel to the game on Saturday for the first time in 6 years. I have decided I can cover the game just as well, if not better, from my living room! We are not even allowed to use our own photographers this season. There will be one pool photographer provided by the host school for all media photos. |
