AP AND COACHES' POLLS

The Tigers remain No.1, of course, and received 55 of the 58 No.1 votes in the AP Poll. The Big Ten has once again been included in this week's poll, and somehow Ohio State dropped from No.2 to No.6 without playing a game. Lol That makes no sense whatsoever. If you thought they were No.2 a few weeks ago, then they should still be No.2. Also, Florida jumped all the way to No.3 after beating an unranked Ole Miss team and giving up 35 points in Lane Kiffin's first game! That also makes no sense, but I've never put much stock in the intelligence of the AP voters. They ain't what they used to be! Finally, Texas didn't even move down a single spot despite needing a miracle comeback to beat unranked Texas Tech in overtime. They should have dropped at least 10 spots after that. The Big 12's playoff hopes are hanging by a thread. Click the links below for the full polls.

4 ACC teams in the top 10! The Tigers have been ranked in the AP Top 5 for 44 consecutive polls. Next-closest is UGA at 11. The Tigers passed Spurrier's Florida Gators for the 8th-longest such streak in history. If the Tigers remain in the top 5 all season, they will pass Miami for 2nd all-time, trailing only Alabama's 68 polls, which they could break in 2021.

Miami is up to No.7 this week. They were unranked to start the season, but I said they were probably a top-10 team with the transfer QB D'Eriq King. It will be the biggest showdown in Death Valley for quite some time. I think the last top-10 matchup was probably Louisville in 2016 unless it was Auburn in 2017, but I think they were just outside the top 10 at the time. I think A&M last year might have been No.11 at the time.

After beating No.7 Miami, Dabo has now coached in 17 games as AP No.1, which is tied with Notre Dame's Ara Parseghian (Rudy's coach) and one behind Spurrier. Amazingly, if the Tigers remain AP No.1 until the National Championship Game, Dabo will have tied his childhood hero Bear Bryant for 9th-most games (27) coached as AP No.1. Coincidentally, Dabo is the only multiple recipient of the Bear Bryant Coach of the Year Award, winning it in 2015, 2016 and 2018!

Clemson and Alabama still occupy the top two spots, but Ohio State jumped over Notre Dame to No.3. Dabo passed Steve Spurrier and is now tied with Jim Tressel on the list of most games coached as AP No.1. The Tigers have been in the AP Top 5 for 47 straight weeks, which is one week shy of the 3rd-longest streak ever.

Tigers remain No.1 in both the AP and Coaches' Polls despite the close game yesterday. Of course, the Tigers were minus Trevor Lawrence and 3 starters on defense, 4 if you count Foster, but I never underestimate the voters' stupidity!

The Tigers are trying to become the 3rd team ever to go wire-to-wire as AP No.1. Dabo is now 17th all-time in games coached as AP No.1, passing Jim Tressel, Steve Spurrier and Ara Parseghian.

I'm guessing the Tigers will fall to No.4 today, even though they proved they are the No.1 team in the nation, leading No.4 on the road by 7 with 2 minutes left despite a true freshman backup QB and half the defense out! They would have won that game by 30 with Trevor and even half of the other players that were out, solidifying their No.1 ranking.

Yep, the Tigers fell to No.4 in the Coaches' Poll. Alabama moved up to No.1 and Notre Dame jumped to No.2. Ridiculous, but expected. The AP Poll will come out at 2:00.

Same thing in AP Poll. Tigers have been ranked in the top 5 for 49 straight polls, which is now 3rd all-time behind Alabama and Miami.
