Once again, Valerie Cagle was stellar on the mound, going the full 7 innings with 6 K's, one walk and no earned runs. Power hitter Melissa Guimbarda, who led the team in homers last season, hit her second of the first 3 games and drove in 2. Bigham was 2-3 and also drove in 2. Pereira went 2-3 as well. Cagle is now 2-0 with a save and has yet to allow an earned run as the Tigers improve to 3-0. If they win this series, they ought to jump into the rankings next week. They'll play the Hokies twice on Friday.  |
