HAPPY EASTER SUNDAY!!!

The Tigers, going for their second straight road sweep, lead 4-3 after 3 innings. State jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 1st after Mat Clark gave up a one-out double and a single. The Tigers answered with 3 runs in the 2nd thanks to singles by Urban, Henderson and Meredith and a walk by Wagner. The Tigers took a 4-1 lead in the 3rd thanks to a solo HR by Alex Urban, who homered last night as well. Clark gave up a leadoff walk and a double in the bottom half to make it 4-2, and Hughes came in from the pen, giving up a single to make it 4-3. Hughes gave up 2 runs when he came in for Askew last night. That's where we sit!

Ugh Hughes gives up a leadoff double and a single. 3 hits already in his first 4 batters. I don't know why Monte keeps bringing him in from the pen. I have not been impressed with him this season. I would have brought Pandya in, especially considering Hughes pitched last night and gave up a couple runs.

Batter reaches on a throwing error by Parker, but Grice throws him out at 2nd to end the inning 1-2-3. Hughes has a 1.98 ERA because the runs he gives up are always credited to the pitcher before him. He does ok after that, but he's terrible when he comes in from the pen with men on base. Monte shouldn't bring Hughes in anymore unless the bases are empty.

Good grief, French strikes out looking on full count! So close to tying! Again, I have to question that call to pinch for Urban, who was 2-3 today and had HR's today and last night. Not to mention that he's had two game-winning hits in the last week and a half!

TIGERS LOSE GAME THREE 9-5 BUT WIN SERIES.

They were so close to the sweep! The Tigers are 14-11 overall and 8-7 in ACC play. No mid-week game this week. They host UVA next weekend.
