OFFICIAL GAME 1 THREAD: CLEMSON at No.25 Miami

CUTrevor 2021-04-16 17:42:45

Sam Hall will start again at 2nd after going 2-3 in his first start of the season on Tuesday. I asked Monte last Sunday if Hall would get his first start after the fielding struggles Henderson has had at 2nd, and sure enough he did. Hall and Parker were probably the only Tigers that had a good game in the 13-6 loss. Nick Anglin will be on the mound for the Tigers tonight, and first pitch is at 7:00 on ACC Network. I'll have updates here as well!

Ugh Parker strikes out looking on 3 pitches. Canes' pitcher has struck out 2 in each of the first 3 innings.

Good grief, Anglin issues a full-count walk for the 3rd straight inning, this time with one out. Not gonna beat Miami on the road giving them freebies!

Lol Canes take a 1-0 lead on a passed ball. I knew the walk would bite Anglin this time. Man on 3rd with one out.

Grounder makes it 2-0 with 2 outs. Walks and errors combined with passed balls/wild pitches have killed the Tigers all season.

Ugh burned by a walk again! 2-out double makes it 3-0. It would likely still be scoreless in the 4th if not for full-count walks.

Anglin hit a batter and gave up yet another full count walk before giving up a sac fly to make it 6-1. Estridge came in from the pen and got the final out of the inning. I don't think I've ever seen a pitcher give up 6 full-count walks in less than 4 innings! Anglin got away with the first 2, but the last 4 of them all scored.

Teo singles with one out, Brewer strikes out to end the game. 4th straight loss for the Tigers, who need to turn things around or they're not gonna make the NCAA Tournament. They gave up a ridiculous 10 walks. 6 were by starter Nick Anglin, and all on full count.

TIGERS LOSE GAME ONE 12-3.
