The last time the Tigers played in Athens was 2019, and I was there for the historic 20-inning game. It was the longest game ever by time and innings for both schools! Unfortunately, the Tigers lost 3-2.

Reliever Rob Hughes is making his first career start tonight, and he gave up a walk and a 2-run HR in the 1st, but the Tigers have just tied the game in the 4th. They got one back in the 3rd thanks to a leadoff double by Hall, a bunt single by Meredith and a sac fly by Grice. Then they tied it in the 4th with a one-out solo HR by Georgia native Davis Sharpe, who is hitting for the first time in weeks. Hall is 2-2 with a walk tonight and hitting .438 since he made his season debut a couple weeks ago!

Ugh walk-off double ends the game. That's how it is when you're on a losing streak! 7th straight loss for the Tigers. They host Wake this weekend and won't make the NCAA Tournament unless they get seriously hot or win the ACC Tournament.
