What a game! The Tigers should have won 7 or 8 to 1, but mistakes gave Louisville 3 runs and they left 14 on base, including stranding the bases loaded 3 times! Still, the Tigers were mentally tough and found a way to scratch out another win over the top-5 Cards to clinch the series. What a difference a week makes! They had lost 7 straight and were on the verge of kissing the NCAA Tourney goodbye, and now they've won 5 straight with a series win over national title contender Louisville!

Caden Grice hit a solo HR in the 8th to break the tie, the 4th in 2 games for the freshman phenom. 3 of them went opposite field, including today's! He has 12 on the season now, which is tied for 9th in the Power Five and tied for the most by any freshman.

Askew threw 113 pitches in 6.2 innings, striking out 10 and allowing 2 earned runs. Gilbert pitched 1.1 innings out of the pen, and Hoffmann pitched the 9th for the save.

Monte told me after the game that Mat Clark will likely get the ball tomorrow with Hoffmann having pitched today. The Tigers will go for the sweep at 2:00 Sunday on ESPNU.
