I was hoping the Noles would finish off Notre Dame the other night, but they blew it. If Notre Dame goes undefeated (which they may with that schedule), and assuming 2 SEC teams get in, that leaves just one spot for Clemson, Oklahoma and Ohio State. Fortunately, Oklahoma looked terrible in their home opener. They could lose to Iowa State or Texas. They will have to beat one of them twice. And the Sooners typically lose to an unranked team at some point like K-State last season and the year before. It's too bad Tulane couldn't close the deal and knock the Sooners out of the playoff right then! And Ohio State was far from dominant against unranked Minnesota. Hopefully they'll trip up against Penn State or someone. There's a chance only one team comes out of the SEC. If Bama loses at A&M and then UGA hammers A&M in the SEC Championship, I think Clemson could get in over Bama because they would have a conference championship over Bama and the best loss in the nation, just a pick-six against undefeated UGA. The bottom line is that we need UGA to go undefeated because if they have just one loss, they will have the head-to-head advantage. And I don't think they will lose 2 games with that schedule. |
