I unfortunately am old enough to remember many ups and downs we have been through.  I was lucky enough to be in school for the 1981 National Championship.  I sat through many tough years.  Does anybody remember the Independance Bowl ? But there a couple of things I do know: We have a Coaching Staff second to none and their love of Clemson is inspirational.  We have developed and are in the process of building National Equivalent Facilities.  When our players graduate they have been prepared for their next step in life whether it be sports or the public sector.  Our fanbase is second to none.  I live right in the middle of the big Four ACC powers that cling to Basketball as their pride and joy, and proudly wear my Clemson gear everywhere I go.  Yes I get my series of nasty comments, but I also get a lot of respect for the PAW.  I have had the pleasure of seeing several young people that I have been associated with choose to go to Clemson.  I asked him why he chose Clemson and he looked me in the eye and said " I saw through you how much it meant to you and I wanted that same college experience."  I, like every Clemson Alumni and Fan would love to see us win every game and its amazing how my expectations have grown as the program has continued to grow.  I can remember almost praying for the sixth win so we would be Bowl Eligible.  Increased expectations are good as long as we remember that we chose Clemson, our Coaches chose Clemson, but most important of all the young men that wear that Paw on their Helmets chose Clemson also and they will always be my Tigers.  Best is the Standard !  And we should all apply it to ourselves !
