Clemson Golf ranked No.12, Bridgeman ranked 9th

Clemson, S.C.—Clemson is ranked 12th in the nation in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll released on Friday by the College Golf Coaches Association of America. It marks the third straight poll Clemson has been ranked in the top 12. Clemson was 11th in the preseason poll, seventh in the September 17th poll and 12th today.

Oklahoma has moved into the top spot ahead of rival Oklahoma State, who was number-one in the previous poll.  North Carolina got three first-place votes and is ranked fourth overall to hold the top spot among ACC teams. Georgia Tech is eighth and Clemson 12th. Wake Forest is 20th to give the ACC four teams in the top 20.

As far as individual rankings released earlier this week by PGA Tour University, Clemson has four of the top 100, the only school in the nation with four players among the top 100 players. Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Mississippi, Pepperdine, Liberty, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Kansas and LSU all have three players ranked in the top 100. Pierceson Coody of Texas is the number-one ranked player this week.

Jacob Bridgeman is the highest rated Clemson player with a number-nine individual ranking. Bridgeman has a team-best 68.67 stroke average through two tournaments  and six rounds, and has a pair of top 20 finishes.  Kyle Cottam is ranked 29th and has a 70.00 average so far. His performance this year includes a 196 score at the season opening tournament at the Maui Jim Invitational when he finished fifth.

Super Senior Colby Patton is ranked  60th and Zack Gordon is ranked 83rd.
