Wow! What a job by Anglin and Gilbert, shutting out that offense! The Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the 9th with a sac fly after loading the bases. Anglin went 5 innings and Gilbert got the win, pitching the last 3 innings. I was surprised Monte didn’t bring Ammons in for the 9th after they got the lead, but Gilbert had great stuff tonight. He hit the leadoff man in the 9th, but Monte stuck with him and he retired the next 3. |
