NEW ORLEANS, LA – Clemson, from the Atlantic Coast Conference, and Alabama, from the Southeastern Conference, will be featured in the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Monday, January 1, 2018, in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The game will be televised live by ESPN beginning at 7:45 PM CST. This year will mark the second time the Sugar Bowl has hosted a Playoff Semifinal. The 84th annual Sugar Bowl Classic will unfold before over 70,000 fans Monday night.


Ticketing Information:

Ticket Sales – The game is officially SOLD OUT. Options remain on the secondary market but the only Verified outlet for obtaining secondary market tickets is through Ticketmaster, the Official Ticket Exchange of the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

NOTE: Children under 2 years of age do not need a ticket for this event.

Gate Information:

Mercedes-Benz Superdome – All gates at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome open at 5:30 PM.

Champions Square – Champions Square will open at 3:30 PM for the Allstate Sugar Bowl Fan Jam.

Security Measures:

Walk-through Metal Detectors – The Mercedes-Benz Superdome will use walk-through metal detectors at all entry gates to enhance safety and security. Prior to entering, guests are asked to remove cell phones, keys, cameras, and other large metal objects, and place them in the security bins. Do not remove belts, coins, jackets, wallets, watches or small jewelry.

Bag Policy – The clear bag policy will be in effect for the Allstate Sugar Bowl & Fan Jam. Clear bags no larger than 12” X 12” X 6" are approved for this event. Non-clear diaper bags are prohibited. Please have all approved clear bags open and ready for screening.

Prohibited Items:

All bags are prohibited other than clear vinyl bags no larger than 12" wide x 12" height x 6" deep, gallon size Ziploc gags (Limit 1 of either) and small clutch purses. Non-clear diaper bags are prohibited. A clear diaper bag (no larger than 12" x 12" x 6") is permitted. Each member of a family, including children, is allowed to carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse into the stadium. Cans, Bottles, Weapons, Fireworks, Contraband, Video Cameras, Cameras with lens exceeding 6”, Recording Devices, Sticks/Poles/Selfie Sticks, GoPros, Beach balls, Laser Pointers, Mace, Artificial Noisemakers and Containers of any kind are prohibited on Mercedes-Benz Superdome property. Any other items determined unacceptable by management will also be prohibited.

Camera Policy:

No video cameras or cameras with professional lenses exceeding 6”.

Allstate Sugar Bowl Fan Jam – Champions Square, 3:30 PM

Get to the Dome early for a first-rate tailgate party to be held at Champions Square. The party begins three hours before kickoff and lasts until the game begins. Entry to club XLIV & Opening Act and will also be free & open to the public! This year’s performer is KARMA. The Fan Jam is FREE for fans of all ages.

  • Two-time Davey O’Brien Award winner Deshaun Watson, who guided Clemson to consecutive College Football Playoff appearances, including the national title last season, will appear from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., participating in a Chalk Talk session with ESPN anchor Neil Everett, followed by an autograph session with fans.
  • 2009 Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram, who led Alabama to an undefeated season and the BCS National Championship in 2009, will appear from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., participating in both a Chalk Talk session with Everett and an autograph session with fans.
