OFFICIAL FRIDAY BASEBALL THREAD: CLEMSON at No.10 Louisville

CUTrevor 2022-04-29 15:56:53

Clemson is one of the hottest teams in America, winning 9 of their last 11 including 6 ranked and 3 top-10 teams! Their brutal schedule continues at No.10 Louisville, which is 26-5 at home this season. The Tigers hit 5 HR's on Wednesday, moving them up to No.10 in the Power Five. Wagner hit 2 HR's on Wednesday for the 3rd time in 5 games and 4th time since April 10. His 19 HR's ranks 4th nationally! The Will Taylor watch is also on, as he is coming off ACL rehab and could make his baseball debut any day.

I'll be at the softball game, but I will do my best to provide baseball updates here as well!

Tigers trail 1-0 after 2 innings. Anglin walked the leadoff man in the 2nd, and that led to a sac fly. The Tigers had some bad luck in the 1st when Ingle lined into a double play after Blackwell drew a leadoff walk. Wagner doubled after the DP, and that would have scored at least a run. They went 1-2-3 in the 2nd.

TIGERS TRAIL 1-0 AFTER 2.

Ugh Tigers trail 4-0 in the 4th. Anglin hit the leadoff man in the 3rd, then gave up a single and a walk. An error by Wagner at 3rd gave them a run and then a single gave them 2 more.

Where’s the offense that has been red-hot??

Good grief Tigers just gave up 3 more runs in the 5th to make it 7-0. Anglin gave up a single, a full-count walk and a double with one out. Anglin came out after a sacrifice RBI and a hit batter, and Hoffmann came in from the oen to give up a 2-out RBI single. This is why Louisville is 26-5 at home!

TIGERS TRAIL 7-0 AFTER 5.

Tigers still trail 7-0 headed to the 9th. Looks like they’ll lose their 3rd game in the last 12.

Well, at least the Tigers weren't blanked. With one out in the 9th, Ingle doubled, Wagner singled and Wright doubled to make the final 7-2. Let's hope that wakes up their bats for tomorrow! This team seems to be feast or famine. Either they all hit or no one does.

TIGERS LOSE 7-2.
