French announced that he will join Dylan Brewer and transfer to the Tigers' rival. French was the primary catcher last season but split time this season with Cooper Ingle behind the plate. Ironically, French hit a big 8th inning HR against the Gamecocks in Columbia to tie the game 2-2 in the 8th before the Tigers scored the winning run in the 9th. By the end of the season, French was not a regular starter, and the Tigers were starting true freshman Reed Garris behind the plate. French batted just .217 this season with 8 HR's in 37 starts. Freshman Camden Troyer and junior transfer Spencer Rich have also entered the transfer portal. |
