Gary is closely monitoring the Ross recruitment, Tim, and it will likely go down to the wire between in-state Alabama and Clemson. Some might tell you the outcome the other night will have a detrimental effect for the Tigers, but I'm of the opinion that head-to-head meetings like that don't mean a great deal in the grand scheme of things to these recruits. Dabo has made that point several times over the years--that recruits generally make their decisions on far more than the outcome of a single game or two. Alabama has won the rubber match, but both of these programs are at the top of college football, and it was only one game. Clemson will be back, and Ross knows that. He also probably knows that Saban's days are numbered as a 66-year-old, and Dabo isn't going anywhere.

Tim Ross is still a Clemson/ALA final two.  And the Tigers at one point seemed and felt inside the Football department that Ross was inevitably a Tiger and some sources even suggested it would happen sooner than later (as the season ended) and had some of us asking around as to if and when a decision was to come down.  in the interim.  Alabama has really gotten back into the mix and has ALOT of local help on the ground and influence.  The #1 Team in recruiting year after year rarely let's one out of their own state and with the recent push on the Tide's end.  It has Ross being more secluded and we have heard it's too close to call at this point.  Stay tuned.  February and signing day are going to be pretty interesting as I am now tracking a few more 2018's that have recently been offered.

What you say makes sense, Trevor. Saban could easily be gone for health reasons in a year or two. He looks like a heart attack waiting to happen. Also, every dynasty comes to an end eventually. This one bama has had is the longest ever, so it's gotta end soon.
