The Tigers dropped 5 spots in the AP Poll, which is ridiculous, after beating VA Tech and losing at Wake without 2 starters including point guard Chase Hunter. The Tigers would be 9-0 if Hunter hadn't gotten hurt, but they are still 8-1 and in 1st place atop the ACC, above UVA, which is ranked No.10! I do not expect Chase to play tonight, by the way. He was in a walking boot on Saturday, and they'll be lucky to get him back for the big Miami game on the 4th. We might see Chase's little brother Dillon make his first start tonight at point. Redshirt freshman Josh Beadle has started the last two games, but Dillon had a great 2nd half against the Hokies on Saturday. The Tigers have won 14 straight at home. They will go for the season sweep of the Jackets at 9:00 on ACCN, and I'll have live coverage right here! |

This is a critical stretch coming up for the TIgers. GT and BC, the Tigers should win these two games but it will be close. Looking ahead to FSU in Tallahassee, I will concede that one in the loss column. FSU has found some magic and are playing well. That will be a tall task to ask the Tigers to go into Tallahassee without Hunter and Hemingway and come away with a victory. As for the Miami game, that one is at home and if you have to play them in a ugly game (VT) to come away with a victory, you do it. The Tigers have the team to do it. It might not have been in their DNA in the past, but its there this year and it showed itself Saturday. Reply |
