It's a rematch of last year when the Tigers knocked the Pack out of the ACC Tournament, only to lose on a buzzer-beater 3 in overtime by VT, who went on to win the tournament! The Tigers might have made the NCAA Tourney otherwise. They are already in the NCAA as far as I'm concerned, as the 3rd place team in the ACC, but one more win over a highly rated team like NC State would definitely seal the deal! The Tigers are already 2-0 against the Pack this season by a combined 39 points. It's really tough to beat a good team thrice in the same season, though, and State ran the Hokies off the court last night. So they will be coming in with momentum, confidence and a chip on their shoulder from being run off their own court by the Tigers a few weeks ago, while the Tigers will be coming in rested but cold. By the way in case you missed it, Alex Hemenway had an emergency appendectomy a few days ago, so he will not be available. What a rough senior season for him!
