After last night's amazing 9th inning rally and Amick's walk-off grand slam to win 9-8, the Tigers won the front end of today's doubleheader 10-2! Ironically, Cannarella went 0-2 and had his hit streak snapped. The freshman had hit safely in the first 14 games of his career! He was 5-6 last night and is now batting .452. Taylor was 2-4 with 2 RBI's, Hall was 2-5 with 3 RBI's and the Tigers' only homer, Amick was 2-5 with 2 RBI's and Bertram was 1-5 with 2 RBI's. Smith started the game and gave up both runs in 3.1 innings. Garris picked up his first win despite pitching just 1.2 innings, and Allen got the save on 4 scoreless innings. Tigers lead 6-0 in the 4th! Cannarella led off the 1st with a single, snapping his one-game hitless streak, and Taylor homered. In the 2nd, Ingle singled to drive in a run, and 2 more scored on a throwing error after Taylor singled. They tacked on another run in the 3rd on a double by Blackwell. Grice started the game on the mound, making his first pitching appearance of the season, and struck out 6 straight batters in the first 2 innings! He struck out another in the 3rd. TIGERS LEAD 6-0 AFTER 3. |

Ugh Bakich put Dvorsky on the mound to start the 4th, and he gave up a full-count walk and back to back homers to make it 6-3. This after Grice threw 3 scoreless innings with 7 K's! I guess Bakich wants to ease Grice into pitching with the big lead. TIGERS LEAD 6-3 M4.

Tigers answer in the bottom half! Taylor led off with his 3rd hit of the game, and Grice and Blackwell each hit 2-out RBI singles to make it 8-3. TIGERS LEAD 8-3 AFTER 4. |

Bertram reached on an error to lead off the 6th, stole 2nd and reached 3rd on a wild pitch. Hall hit a sac fly to make it 9-5. Got a cheap one there! TIGERS LEAD 9-5 AFTER 6.
