Wow, the Tigers let one get away from them with an electric crowd at Littlejohn despite the early, rainy tip. They were just 1-18 from 3! If they had shot their season average of 39 percent, they would have gone 7-18 and won by 8 points. They played well defensively, holding the Heels to 20 points less than their season average, but scored just 22 points in the 2nd half after a back-and-forth, tied first half. Ian had a fantastic game but didn't shoot a single 3, and he leads the ACC in 3-point percentage at 57 percent! I asked Brownell after the game if there was any thought to manufacturing some 3's for him because of the way they were struggling, although you then lose his value as an offensive rebounder. Hall fouled out for the second straight game, picking up his 4th foul with about 5 or 6 minutes left. He scored a season-low 10 points, less than half his average of 22.5. Clark and Hemenway were still out today. Brownell told us after the game that Clark is on the verge of practicing, but it sounds like Hemenway will be a little behind him.

The Tigers fall to 11-3 overall and 1-2 in the ACC. The ACC did not do them any favors with this early season schedule! Road games at Pitt, Miami and VA Tech with a home game against No.8 UNC!
