Starting Lineups

The Tigers will be the visiting team for todays game. The sun is out and its warm and the back drop is spectacular. It's baseball time in Charlotte. We are 25 minutes away from the first pitch.

Leading off the top of the first for the Tigers, Alden Mathes.

Mathes with a leadoff base hit in to left field and that will bring Hinderleider to the plate

Hinderleider with a fly ball to right field for the first out in the inning and that will bring Blake Wright to the plate

Wright with a can of corn to center field and that will bring Cam Cannarella to the plate.

Cannarella with the fly ball to center field and that will end the top of the first. The Tigers get a hit but nothing else.

Leading off the bottom for the first for Miami, Jacoby Long.

Long goes down on strikes and that will bring Edguardo Villegas to the plate.

Villegas with the grounder to the 2nd baseman and the Tigers make a great play to get the 2nd out in the inning. At the plate for Miami, Daniel Cuvet

Cuvet with the base hit into left field and that will bring Dorian Gonzalez Jr to the plate.

Gonzalez Jr, with a shot to the wall and Bissetta couldn't hang on and that will draw the games first run as Gonzalez Jr ends up at 2nd base with the RBI double.At the plate for Miami, Lucas Costello

Costello with the grounder to 2nd base and the Tigers get out of the inning. Miami gets a run on 2 hits. We move to the top of the 2nd.

Lading off the top of the 2nd for the Tigers, Jimmy Obertop

Obertop with a base hit into left field and that will bring Tristan Bissetta to the plate and for the 2nd time today the leadoff guy is on for the Tigers. 

Obertop with the steal and the Tigers have a runner in scoring position.

Bissetta draws a walk and that brings Crighton to the plate with runners on first and second.

Crightonwith a line shot and a great play by the 1st baseman and had a great chance at a double play but the Tgiers managed to avoid the double play with heads up hustle and there will be a challenge at 2nd base on the call but from  y view Obertop got back to the bag so we will see. Right now its one out and runners are still on 1st and 2nd.

After review the runner at 2nd is safe. That will bring Jacob Jarrell to the plate.

Jarrell pops out bringing Jarren Purify to the plate.

Purify with the bases clearing double and the Tigers have taken the lead. At the plate, Alden Mathes

Mathes flies out but the Tigers get 2 runs on 2 hits and a walk. We move to the bottom for the 2nd.

Leading off the bottom of the 2nd for Miami, Perez

Perez with a single and that will bring Carrier to the plate.

Carrier with a shot to the left field wall and Miami has runners on first and second and that will bring Jiminez to the plate.

Jiminez with the 3-run shot to right field and just like that Miami has taken control of this game. That will bring Urso to the plate.

Urso with a grounder to the 2nd baseman Purify for the first out in the inning. That will bring Long to the plate.

Long with the grounder to the short stop but the first baseman didn't handle the throw and Miami has a runner on first with Villegas at the plate.

Villegas draws a walk and that brings Cuvet to the plate.

That will bring Bakich to the mound and that will end the day for Darden and just like that, the Tgiers waste no time going to the bullpen. Pitching now for the Tigers, Lucas Mahlstedt

Cuvet with a shot into the right field corner and a bases clearing triple and Miami has blown this game open. At the plate fore Miami, Gonzalez Jr.

Not sure what Bakich is questioning here but there is a review. This is a long review and again not sure what is being questioned. What ever the review is, the call is safe so the plasy at home was in questioned. At the plate for Miami, Gonzalez Jr.

Gonzalez Jr, with the fly ball to rifght field and the throw to home keeps the runner at third base. At the plate for Miami, Costello.

Costello goes down on strikes but Miami gets 5 runs highlighted by a 3 run -shot.

Leading off the top of the 3rd for the Tigers, Jacob Hinderleider

Hinderleider draws a leadoff walk and that will bring Blake Wright to the plate as the Miami pitching staff makes their way to he mound. 

Wright with a base hit into center field and the Tigers have runners on first and second and that will b ring Cam Cannarella to the plate.

Cannarella hits into an  3-6-3 double play and now Miami is questioning something so the umpires are discussing it. That will bring Obertop to the plate and Cannarella very well could be safe at first.

After review, Cannarella is out. There are 2 outs and Obertop makes his way to the plate.

Bissetta with a blooper to the short stop and that will bring the inning to a close. We move to the bottom of the 3rd. The Tigers do get a run and for the 3rd inning, the Tigers got the leadoff man on base.

Leading off the bottom for the 3rd for Miami, Perez

Perez pops up to the 2nd baseman Purify for the first out in the inning and that will bring Carrier to the plate.

Carrier with the grounder to Purify for the 2nd out in the inning and that will bring Jimenez to the plate.

Jimenez with the base hit into center field and that will bring Urso to the plate.

Urso goes down on strikes and that will end the bottom of the 3rd. 

Leading off the top of the 4th for the Tigers, Jack Crighton

Crighton with the grounder to the short stop who mishandled the ball and the leadoff hitter is on base and that will bring Jarrell to the plate.

Jarrell goes down on strikes and that will bring Purify to the plate.

Miami attempts pick off at first and the ball gets away into right field and Crighton ends up on 3rd.

Purify already with 2 rbis today has an opportunity here with Crighton 90 feet away

Purify goes down on strikes for the 2nd out of the inning. That will bring Alden Mathes to the plate.

Mathes goes down on strikes and that will end the inning for the Tigers.

Leading off the bottom of the 4th for Miami, Long

Long with the grounder to the 3rd baseman for the first out in the inning and that will bring Villegas to the plate.

Villegas with a blooper into center field just outside the reach of Purifys glove and that will bring Covet to the plate.

Covet with the grounder for the 2nd out in the inning and that will bring Gonzalez Jr to the plate.

Gonzalez Jr, with a single into left field and what a throw by BIssetta at the plate to get the runner at home and get out of the inning.

Leading off the top of the 5th for the Tigers, Hinderleider

Hinderleider with the single into center field. At the plate for the Tigers, Blake Wright

Wright hits into the fielders choice 5-4 as Wright is safe at first and that will bring Cannarella to the plate.

Cannarella with the single into left field and that will bring Obertop to the plate.

Obertop with the grounder to the 3rd baseman to end the inning. The Tigers once again get the leadoff runner on but cant capitalize.

Leading off the bottom of the 5th for Miami, Costello

Costello pops it up behind the plate and Obertop hauls it in for the 1st out in the inning and that will bring Perez to the plate.

Perez goes down on strikes and that will bring Carrier to the plate.

Carrier with the grounder to Purify and that is a one,two, three inning for the Tigers and that's the first 1,2,3 inning today.

Leading off the top of the 6th for the Tigers, Bissetta

Bissetta with the popup to left field for the first out in the inning and that will bring Crighton to the plate.

Crighton with the pop up to the 2nd baseman for the 2nd out in the inning and that will bring Jarrell to the plate.

Jarrell with the popup to shallow left field and that was a quick 1,2,3 inning for the Tigers. 

Leading off the bottom for the 6th for Miami JImenez

Jiminez draws a walk and that will bring Urso to the plate.

Urso with the slow roller to 3rd and a great play by Wright for the first out in the inning and that will  bring Long to the plate.

This will end Mahlstedt day as Bakich makes his way out to the mound and they will bring in Reed Garris to pitch.

Long with the fly out and that will bring Villegas to the plate.

Villegas with the RBI single into center field and that will bring Covet to the plate.

Covet with the deep fly ball to center field and that will end the inning for Miami. The Hurricanes get another run. We move to the top of the 7th.

Leading off the top of the 7th for the Tigers, Purify

Purify with a leadoff double and that will bring Alden Mathes to the plate.

Purify moves over to third on the passed ball

Mathes with the grounder to the 1st baseman as Purify scores on the grounder and that will bring Hinderleider to the plate.

Hinderleiderwith the ground out to the first baseman and that will bring Wright to the plate.

Wright with the third out in the inning. 

Leading off the bottom for the 7th for Miami, Gonzalez Jr

Gonzalez Jr with the grounder to Purfiy who was playing in the grass for the 1st out in the inning and that will bring Costello to the plate.

Costello goes down on strikes and that will bring Perez to the plate.

Perez goes down on strikes and that will end the bottom for the 7th. The Tgiers are down to their last 6 outs.

Leading off the top of the 8th for the Tigers, Cam Cannarella

Cannarella with a leadoff triple to start the 8th inning for the Tigers. At the plate, Obertop.

Obertop with a RBI double as the Tiger fans come to their feet. At the plate for the Tigers, Bissetta as Miamis pitching coach makes his way out to the mound.

Bissetta with a first pitch swinging RBI single into right center field and ends up at 2nd base and the Tigers have pulled within one run and now we will see a pitching change for Miami

Crighton is hit b y a pitch and that will bring Jarrell to the plate.

Bakich calls his runners and batter in for a conference and we all know this is situational Bakich ball

jarrell with the bunt and a great play to get the lead runner at 3rd and that will bring Purify to the plate.

The ball gets away from the Miami catcher and the tying run is 90 feet away. Runners on first and second with one out.

Purify with the popup to shallow right field for the 2nd out in the inning. That will bring Mathes to the plate.

Mathes goes down on strikes as the Miami pitcher stares down Mathes as he walks off the field. The Tigers score 3. We move to the bottom for the 8th inning.

Leading off the bottom of the 8th for Miami, Carrier

Carrier with a leadoff bomb. Not exactly what you wanted to have happen but that ball was crushed. At the plate for Miami, Jimenez

Jimenez with a popup to left field for the first out in the inning and that will bring Urso to the plate.

Urso with the 6-3 put out and that will bring Long to the plate.

Long with the slow roller and Long was able to beat out the throw and that will bring Villegas to the plate.

A steal by Long and the ball gets into center field and Long is at 3rd with two outs.

Villegas gets rung up on strikes 3 and that will end the inning.

Leading off the top of the 9th for the Tigers, Hinderleider

Hinderleider with a lead off home run and just like that things are getting interesting if they haven't already. At the plate for the Tigers, Blake Wright.

Wright draws a walk and Cannarella walks to the plate.

Cannarella pops it up and the short stop hauls it in for the first out in the inning and that brings Obertop to the plate.

Obertop with the grounder to the 3rd baseman to get the lead runner at 2nd and beat out the throw to first. The Tigers are down to their last out. Although Miami is going to question the call at first base. Bissetta will be at the plate once we get the call on the review.

After review the runner is safe and at first and out at second.

Bissetta with a deep drive to the wall and the Miami left fielder hauled it in and right now it is under review. There is a possibility the ball hit the yellow line at the top of the wall first and then landed in the outfielders glove. If it hit yellow first, this will be a 2 run home run. The call is out, and Miami escapes.
