Dabo lands his second transfer in days and it’s a big one!

Just a few days after Dabo brought in FCS WR transfer Tristan Smith, a Georgia native, he got a commitment from 6'6, 265-pound Purdue DE Will Heldt! The sophomore posted 5 sacks and 10 TFL’s this season and was rated as the top edge rusher in the portal. He chose Clemson over LSU and A&M.

The Tigers were a little thin at DE this season and had to move Peter Woods to end. Now they can move Woods back inside next season with Parker, Heldt, Hoffler and Lawson outside!

I’ll have more in a bit!

CLEMSON, S.C. — Head Coach Dabo Swinney and Clemson Football announced today that Clemson has signed defensive end Will Heldt.

Heldt (6-6, 265) signed with Clemson after playing his first two collegiate seasons at Purdue, appearing in all 24 games for the Boilermakers from 2023-24. As a sophomore in 2024, gameday stat crews credited Heldt with 56 tackles (10.0 for loss), 5.0 sacks and a fumble recovery he returned 16 yards for a touchdown. He recorded 2.5 sacks and the 16-yard scoop-and-score in back-to-back games against ranked opponents against Illinois and Oregon in October.

Heldt, 19, is a native of Carmel, Ind., where the Carmel High School product was twice selected to the Indiana Football Coaches Association Top 50 All-State team. He joins the Tigers with two remaining years of eligibility.
