2nd down and 5 as Angel escapes for a first down and he is being tended to on the tackle. Hopefully nothing serious as he gets up and walks to the sideline

1st and 10 for the Cuse as they have marched right down the field. Syracuse may have called a timeout to give Angel a chance to recover and not have to come out of the game.Right now it still shows that Syracuse still has 3 timeouts so this could be a TV timeout for injury

False start on Syracuse and believe me that had nothing to do with the crowd. Maybe not having enough reps with the backup for the Cuse. Angel is back in and so that could have been a  planned play call by the coaching staff. Well now the backup has returned and he scrambles for a few yards and Sammy Brown makes the tackle

Pass over the middle for a Syracuse first down and let me tell you now, the poise he just showed in the pocket would concern me if I am the Tigers

What should have been a first and 10 and the 1/2 inch line for Syracuse turns into a 1st and 10 at the 25 yard line. The Tigers special teams missed a golden opportunity there. As it stands, it is a touch back and Syracuse catches a break on the mental lapse by the Tigers special teams

Another mental breakdown by the Tigers on roughing the passer that is a horrible call. My oh my. Holding call negates that, but that in no way was roughing the passer

I am not a betting man but whoever made Clemson a 17 1/2 point favorite needs their head examined.

Lightning has been detected with 15 miles of the stadium and a large cell is headed towards us as we speak.If ;lightning gets within 8 miles of the stadium the game will be halted

Tigers gets the ball on the 25 yard line with 16 seconds left and a timeout. Could there be some magic right here before halftime.

Randall breaks free and tears off a 34 yard run and Cade spikes the ball with 5 seconds left. Time for one quick pass play and a possible field goal attempt as the Tigers take their final timeout of the half.

Pass incomplete to Wesco and with one second left, a shot at the endzone ends in a interception for Syracuse. We have reached halftime in a crazy first half so far as we have seen just about everything, good and bad. Don't look now but that cell has moved closer and I look for Dale Gilbert any minute now to announce that lightning is within 8 miles of the stadium and for us to have an extended halftime

Second Quarter Stats 

As I suspected it has been announced there is a lightning delay and the stadium is being evacuated as we speak. My son who is here with me is a head Athletic trainer at a local high school in Georgia and he has 3 weather apps that he replies on in making decisions. Let me tell you, I have seen the radar and this is a ;arger cell. We could be in a delay for a while. I will tell you too that if it is a significant delay and with the events of yesterday, ( I Was In A Bad Wreck), I will not be able to stay for the duration of the game. We will pick up with play by play from home.

The main cell actually is going South of us but lightning is still close enough right now to keep us in a delay. They are saying 3:45 start time but its 3:15 and the teams have yet to emerge from the locker room. Again after the events of yesterday and other planned activities this evening, more than likely we will be departing Clemson in about 45 minutes to a hour and try to cover the rest of the game from home. TV is going to switch to another channel and I may not have access to that channel.

Syracuse was up 24-7, a 17 point lead at one point and the Tigers have made it 24-14 with the 3rd quarter looming. Could we see a 34 point swing here with the point spread being 17 1/2, especially if the Tigers come out and score on the opening drive to start the 3rd quarter and pull within 3. The 2nd half should be a lot of fun. The bigger question is how much of the crowd will return when this game resumes

They just announced that the lightning delay has been lifted and teams will hit the field at 330 and kickoff to start the 3rd quarter will start at 345. That is only 15 minutes to warm up so that will be interesting to see how this plays out. Hopefully no major injuries after sitting for almost 2 hours.

These teams warm up a hour and a half before a game and after sitting this long to not have them go through complete warmups again could be dangerous. Shocked they aren't taking more time to warm up!

Angel went under center and the defense didn't adjust and Donte Cook rambles for 18 yards and a first down

2nd and 7 after a 3 yard run and Angle had nothing but green grass in front of him and he tripped and he is hurt. This looks bad. They are looking at his knee and he got up on his own power.

3rd and 8 for the Tiger defense 

Cross with the throw to the tight end and he takes a shot from Terrell and the Cuse are forced to punt once again.

Handoff to Randall and he fumbles and Syracuse recovers the ball. Wow!
