They are #7 in the Coaches Poll and #11 in RPI. Somehow FSU is ahead of us in RPI despite the fact we were a 13-inning 3-2 loss away from sweeping them and have a better record. As I see it, if the Tigers win these last 4 regular season games, which they should, and at least one in the ACC Tournament, I think they get a top-8 national seed. As long as they are near the top-10 RPI, they will almost always benefit from the fan base, stadium size and ticket sales. For example, if it's close between Clemson and Stetson or Texas Tech, who are both ranked ahead in RPI right now, Clemson would get the nod. And they will get the nod over FSU having won the series, provided FSU doesn't beat them in Durham or win the tourney. Also, UGA is one of the teams ahead in RPI right now, but they won't get a national seed because of their SEC record. Even though they won both meetings with the Tigers this season, we would get the seed over them. Again, this is all assuming we win these last 4 games on the road and at least one in the tourney.
