The Tigers' brutal schedule continued with yet another series against a ranked ACC team, this time on the road at Wake. Good Friday night's game was a pitchers' duel that remained scoreless until the Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the 9th on a sac fly by Corbitt. Gilbert pitched a 3rd inning of relief to pick up the win.
The Tigers trailed 9-2 on Saturday but fought their way back to tie the game in the 9th, only to give up a pair of walks and a 3-run HR in the 10th to lose 12-9, ending the Tigers' 4-game win streak. However, the Tigers won the rubber match on Easter Sunday 10-8 thanks to 5 homers, including 2 by Caden Grice, who hadn't hit a HR in about 5 weeks. Freshman David Lewis, who made his first career start on Saturday, hit his first career HR.
The Tigers' schedule doesn't get any easier, but perhaps they will draw some momentum from their first ACC series win. They will face No.10 Georgia in Athens, who they beat 4-3 a couple weeks ago, before hosting No.9 FSU.
