CLEMSON, SC - The Tigers were coming off an ugly road loss at Louisville and took care of business on Wednesday night, dominating Syracuse from beginning to end, leading by as many as 25 points in the second half. Hunter Tyson was 6-12 from the arc for 29 points, one shy of his career high, with 10 rebounds. Chase Hunter had 11 assists, tied for the most under Brownell with Reed and Trapp, and the Tigers had 28 assists, setting a program record! The Tigers also set a program record with their 12th ACC win, and they still have 3 games left.
Up next is a massive game at NC State on Saturday, which could determine who claims the coveted 4th spot in the ACC standings. The Tigers are currently in 4th, but State is just one game behind. The Tigers won the first meeting with the Pack by 14 points in Littlejohn. If they can win in Raleigh, which will be tough in a very hostile environment, then they should beat Notre Dame to end the regular season and get the double-bye in the ACC Tourney. They should also make the NCAA Tourney if that happens. They have another brutal road game at UVA following NC State.
