CLEMSON, SC - Two-way star Caden Grice has been getting stronger on the mound as the season has wound down, and the Tigers needed it in a low-scoring affair on Saturday in the final game of the regular season. He did it with his bat as well, hitting his team-leading 14th HR of the season with 2 outs in the 1st, just like he did on Thursday, to put the Tigers up 2-0. Grice shut the Heels out until the 6th, when he gave up a one-out double and a sac fly to make it 2-1.

Amick hit a one-out double in the 8th, and Bertram doubled to drive in freshman pinch runner Lleyton Lackey for an insurance run to make it 3-1. Hughes relieved Grice in the 8th and closed the books on the Heels for his second save of the season. Grice threw 97 pitches in 7.1 innings, his longest career outing, allowing just 4 hits and one run with 9 strike outs. He is 7-1 on the season, winning his last 6 decisions, including a career-high 11 K's against Louisville!

Cannarella was 3-4 and Bertram, who has come on strong of late, was 2-3 with a walk and the RBI double. The Tigers finished the regular season with a 12th straight win and their 3rd straight ACC sweep, with 4 sweeps in their last 5 series. They are the hottest team in America, winning 17 of their last 18, and have the second-best record in the ACC. However, they will be the No.3 seed in next weekend's ACC Tournament since the Coastal division winner is automatically given the No.2 seed.
