GIRARD MAKES CLEMSON DEBUT, TIGERS PUT ON EXHIBITION IN 90-39 ROUT OF NEWBERRY

CLEMSON, SC - Quite an exhibition, and without Hemenway, who has a hamstring and is about 90 percent but sat out! Hall led in scoring with 14 points in 13 minutes. He was 6-8 from the field and 2-3 from the arc but 0-2 from the free throw line. The Tigers were just 5-11 from the stripe. Hall also had 2 fouls in the first half, and that's something he has to avoid this season! The Tigers shot 53.6 percent from the field and 34.4 percent from the arc. Ian played just 26 minutes but pulled down 13 boards! He also scored 12 and was the only one in double digits other than Hall. Transfer guard Joseph Girard, a former 3-year starter at Syracuse, made his Clemson debut and hit a 3-pointer for his first bucket as a Tiger. He finished 3-7 and 2-5 from the arc for 8 points with 3 assists in 16 minutes. Sophomore RJ Godfrey was very productive off the bench, going 4-5 for 8 points and 9 rebounds, including 5 offensive boards, with 3 assists in 15 minutes. Sophomore Josh Beadle suffered a concussion and a broken nose in a car accident a couple weeks ago, but he scored 9 points in 19 minutes, hitting one of his two attempts from the arc.
