CHARLOTTE, NC - For the second straight day, the Tigers did not play well, but they showed a lot of heart, almost pulling off a miraculous comeback against No.13 Louisville. The Tigers trailed by 14 points with 3 minutes left but had a chance to tie or win the game at the end of regulation. Unfortunately, the Tigers were robbed once again by their old nemesis, Ted Valentine and the officials. Chase Hunter drove to the basket and was basically tackled, but there was no call. He should have been on the free throw line with a chance to send the game to overtime.
Ted Valentine is the Ron Cherry of basketball. He stole the game from the Tigers at Cameron last year with a BS last-second foul call, and tonight he steals the game with a BS no-call.
This should have been the year that the Tigers finally won an ACC Tournament, but hopefully they can bounce back like they did last year with another great NCAA run. They were one and done in the ACC Tournament last year and made it to the Elite 8 for the second time ever.
