CLEMSON, SC - Big win for the Tigers over a top SEC team! Freshman Talan Bell made his fourth midweek start, but it was his first time on a big stage, and he delivered! He had 5 strikeouts in 3.2 innings en route to the Tigers' second shutout of the season. The bullpen was also outstanding, as they have been all season. McGovern got the win, while Wentworth and Garris provided 3 hitless innings in middle relief. Mahstedt got his 15th save of the season, tying the single-season Clemson record!
Leadoff man Listi scored the first run of the game in the 1st and drove in the next run in the 2nd with a double. There would be no more scoring until the 7th, when Cam drove a 2-out double to make it 3-0.
The Tigers have another big ACC series coming up this weekend at NC State. It will be a tough task, but if they can sweep, there is a good chance they could overtake Texas for the No.1 spot in the rankings!
