Dabo's press conference went about 45 minutes today, but we only got two player interviews. Full videos are below. I asked Dabo about the QB competition--how close Kelly and Trevor are right now and whether he foresees a game-by-game competition well into the season. Dabo spoke at great length about that. I also asked him about Richard Yeargin's decision to retire and how that will affect their depth at DE, along with moving Xavier Kelly inside to tackle, and what that meant for the younger ends they have like Xavier Thomas and Justin Foster. Watch Dabo discuss those topics and much more below! We also had a good interview with Adam Choice, the veteran of the running back group who has stayed the course and rewarded with being listed second on the depth chart, ahead of Tavien Feaster. He modestly downplayed that and humorously told us that he didn't even know about it until he received a congratulatory text from his mom last night. Dabo said a couple of weeks ago that he thought this could be the best RB unit in the nation, and I am beginning to believe him. It is certainly deep with the addition of freshman Lyn-J Dixon, who Dabo called a pleasant surprise today and said is ahead of where Etienne was at this time last year. That is a scary thought for the Tigers' opponents this season! Finally, we spoke with starting linebacker Tre Lamar about the depth of the defense and what he's expecting from Furman.
I'll have more later, and don't forget: the season's first What We Are Hearing is just a couple days away so stay tuned!
