This is pretty surprising, as Shaq has patiently waited for his opportunity with a good attitude and appeared to be set to start at linebacker next season. Venables praised Shaq highly throughout the spring and said that he had emerged as one of the leaders of the team.
It is not a done deal just yet. A player can place his name in the transfer portal and decide not to transfer, but he intends to transfer at this time.
