No.1 Clemson is wrapping up August camp and has turned its gaze to the opener against Georgia Tech. We spoke with DE Justin Foster, DE Logan Rudolph, LB Mike Jones, PK BT Potter and S Denzel Johnson after practice on Tuesday. Potter has won the starting place kicker job, replacing four-year starter Greg Huegel. Dabo said Potter has had an excellent camp, very consistent on field goals. Potter had a very respectable touch back percentage last season on kickoffs and should be even better this season with the time he has spent in the weight room. In fact, Dabo said he hit The Hill with one of his kickoffs in Thursday's stadium scrimmage! Defensive ends Justin Foster and Logan Rudolph should play prominent roles this season with the losses of Ferrell and Bryant. Both made the transition to end from other positions in high school. Finally, Denzel Johnson was a virtual unknown last August but was a key contributor in the secondary last season. He talked to me about how far he has come and where he has improved. Those interviews are below. I will also have photos from today's practice, so stay tuned!
