As always, we spoke with Dabo after practice on Wednesday evening, and he said the team is in good spirits as they prepare for another home game against Charlotte on Saturday night in Death Valley. I asked Dabo what areas he's looking to for improvement on Saturday, and he said mainly the consistency on both sides of the ball. He pointed out how explosive they have been on offense but that they need to be more efficient on 3rd down. On the defensive side of the ball, they have also made some great plays, but they have missed too many "lay-ups." Dabo said they've made some 3-pointers and some dunks on both sides, but they've also missed a bunch of layups. Charlotte has a big, physical running back that is able to break arm tackles, so this will be a good test to see if the defense can wrap him up and miss fewer tackles.
The Tigers are in good shape from an injury standpoint. Derion Kendrick was still experiencing back spasms early in the week, but Dabo said he was good on Wednesday and will be ready to go.
The Tigers are looking to extend their school record and nation-leading active win streak to 19 games on Saturday. It will be Dabo's 150th game as head coach. The full interview is below!
