We had our weekly post-practice interview with Dabo on Wednesday evening, and he said Xavier Thomas is still day to day with the concussion protocol. I asked him about DK’s turf toe, and he said he should be ready to go on Saturday. Otherwise, no injuries to report. I asked Dabo what percentage of the playbook they've used so far, just past the midpoint of the season, and he said they've essentially run most of it but that they add nuances and wrinkles on a week-to-week basis based on the scheme they think they will face. I expect the plays for the first half of the season were somewhat vanilla compared to what we will see at South Carolina and in the playoff. We caught a glimpse of that in the FSU game, when Dabo, Elliott and Scott scripted the halfback pass from Etienne on the second play from scrimmage. Given that the Tigers will be favored by 3 touchdowns in their remaining games, they have the luxury of not having to reveal too many of the gadget plays they have up their sleeves. I also asked Dabo about Robbie Caldwell and how special it is that he will be coaching his 500th game on Saturday. That is second-most among all active FBS coaches! The full interview is below.
