CLEMSON, SC - What a day to be a Tiger! Softball beat Maryland 21-2 for 3rd straight win, baseball won 1-0 to start the season 2-0 and basketball dominates No.5 Louisville for its second win over a top-5 team--the first time in 40 years that's happened! Sophomore John Newman was sensational, scoring a career-high 23 points. The Tigers led by as many as 21 points in the second half. It was easily the best crowd of the season in Littlejohn, and Clemson regular Bill Murray was in attendance! His son is an assistant for Louisville, and another son is a Clemson grad. Murray has resided in Charleston for many years and has made several appearances in Clemson in the past.
The Tigers are now 7-8 in ACC play and are right in the thick of things if they can knock off Boston College next! It's too bad Simms had the flu and missed the Notre Dame game last week, or the Tigers would be 8-7 and 5th in the ACC.
Post-game interviews are below, and I'll have more in a bit!
