CLEMSON BEATS NO.6 FSU IN 70-69 THRILLER FOR 3RD TOP-6 WIN OF SEASON!

After it looked like Trent Forrest had ripped the Tigers' hearts out with back-to-back scores to put the Noles up by one with 10 seconds left, true freshman Al-Amir Dawes took the ball the length of the court for an acrobatic layup with one second left! Just like the buzzer-beater by Trapp to beat Syracuse 71-70 in Littlejohn, Brad Brownell wisely did not call a timeout, and FSU was unable to set its high-pressure defense, which is one of the best in the nation. Dawes and Newman led the Tigers with 18 points apiece, while Simms scored just 5.
It's the third top-6 win of the season for the Tigers, who are now 9-9 in ACC play with 2 games left: at Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech at home. They have beaten each of the top 3 teams in the league: Duke, Louisville and FSU. Remarkably, if the Tigers can win their next 2 games and win 2 in the ACC Tournament, which would likely include another win over FSU, they would probably find themselves in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since their Sweet 16 run 2 years ago!
