CLEMSON, SC - In the Tigers' ACC opener, Boston College led 3-1 in the 6th inning, but the Tigers rallied in the late innings. Hawkins and Parker started the 6th with singles, and Hackenberg singled to make it 3-2. Chad Fairey, who is still hitless for the season, came through with a sac fly to tie the game. Hackenberg was the hero again in the 8th, driving in the winning run with a single after Parker singled and stole 2nd.
Sam "Wild Thing" Weatherly, who was No.5 nationally in total strike outs and K's per 9 innings, was right on his strike out average, going 5.2 innings with 10 K's. He wound up with a no-decision, though, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits and 4 walks. Closer Carson Spiers earned the win out of the bull pen, improving his record to 2-0 on the season.
