Clemson, S.C. (October 15, 2020) – The Clemson Chapter of Uplifting Athletes will be holding a Touchdown Pledge Drive on Saturday, October 24th versus Syracuse to shine a spotlight on the Rare Disease Community.
Uplifting Athletes chapters are run by college football student-athletes. The challenges faced by the Rare Disease Community today are bigger than any one individual, team or organization can tackle alone. To create the change needed we all must rally together.
We all have the opportunity to provide hope and NOW is the time to take action!
The leadership team of the Clemson Chapter, led by Will Spiers and Jack Maddox, and all the members of the 2020 Tigers squad is asking fans to make a pledge for each touchdown Clemson scores against Syracuse. As the game unfolds, watch and cheer as each touchdown scored helps raise money to support the Rare Disease Community.

“Touchdown Pledge Drive is an amazing event that our chapter is extremely excited to take part in,” said Clemson Chapter Vice President and long snapper Jack Maddox. “Each touchdown in the game means so much more by being able to generate awareness and support for the Rare Disease Community. Being able to compete against fellow chapter Syracuse sets up for an awesome day for Uplifting Athletes and the Rare Disease Community.”
Proceeds from the Clemson Chapter 2020 Touchdown Pledge Drive support Uplifting Athletes and its commitment to create Uplifting Leaders, engage in Uplifting Experiences, fund Rare Disease Research, and expand Rare Disease Awareness.
The Clemson Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2014 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. Founded by former kicker Chandler Catanzaro and long snapper Jim Brown, the student-athlete led Clemson Chapter serves the Rare Disease Community in honor of an assistant coach who fought kidney cancer, a former player who fights Castleman disease, and a member of the Tigers athletic staff whose child battles neuroblastoma.
Support the Clemson Chapter and its efforts to make a difference in the Rare Disease Community by signing up today for the 2020 Touchdown Pledge Drive.
